Our comprehensive checklist to make sure you have everything you need for the ultimate Tanzania safari adventure.
Use this checklist to prepare for your trip. We have organized everything into easy categories so nothing gets left behind.
Smart packing advice from our experienced safari team to help you travel lighter and smarter.
Pack light. Most safari vehicles have limited luggage space, and soft-sided bags are preferred over hard suitcases.
Avoid bright white and dark blue/black clothing. White stands out in the bush, and dark colors attract tsetse flies.
Laundry service is available at most lodges and camps, so you can pack fewer clothes and have them washed during your stay.
Bring a warm layer even in summer. Ngorongoro Crater rim sits at 2,300m, and early morning game drives can be surprisingly cold.
Keep all essential documents, medications, and a change of clothes in your carry-on bag in case of delayed luggage.
Luggage Restrictions: If you are taking a light aircraft (bush flight) to a remote camp or the Serengeti, luggage is typically limited to 15kg per person in a soft-sided bag. Check with us for specific weight limits on your itinerary.
Now that you know what to bring, check our visa and health requirements to make sure you're fully prepared for Tanzania.
